Backend engineer first (Java and Scala), platform engineer now. Seven years in production infrastructure. That order matters: a latency problem gets followed from the load balancer into the application code, because I have written that kind of code.
Most of the work has been AWS. Six or more production migrations led. One engagement cut the AWS bill by 46%, another by 45%. Production incidents down by more than 50% across 26 services. Twelve Jenkins pipelines moved to CircleCI. A Redis to ElastiCache migration with zero downtime.
